What is the best yoga mat?

I live in a house with cold, hard tile floors and I'm looking for a comfortable and somewhat padded mat. All the ones I've seen seem very flimsy and non-protecting of sensitive bones. I don't need something that's highly portable. I'm a beginning yoga practicioner.
