How to get into big data?

I have a bachelors in construction manager and work for a pretty niche software company doing technical support. I want to know what I can do to get into big data analytic. I would assume there are different types of jobs in the field of analytic, so I was wondering if I could work my way in without another degree and a masters or do I have to get a math/statistics degree? Thanks!
