How much to charge for painting and decorating services?

hi im thinking about going self employed (painter/decorator) but not sure on what i should charge is there all different prices for different jobs or is it just standard fee per day or per hour ive tried contacting other decorators but obviously they wont say and if i make out to be a customer they say they will
