Is homeopathy effective in curing eczema?

i am suffering from eczema for the past 1 year now. my skin's condition has worsened within 1 week of taking homeopathic medicines. but my doctor says it means the medicines are being effective. and that this will happen for a few more weeks before you see improvements in your skin. should i continue with the homeopathic medicines?
