How long does it take to become a dentist

i was thinking of becoming a general dentist who does not specialize.

ok i'm not an expert on these things so i would do some research if you want to find a really detailed answer. so most likely you will have 4 years of college and 3-4 years of dental school. once you are in dental school you have to be very serious about school and get good grades otherwise you will not be able to become a dentist.
