How do you play call of duty like a pro?

I hate playing call of duty online because i just cant understand what im doing wrong I keep getting deaths more then kills is it beacuse im not fast enouch to shoot my gun are is it beacuse its a game of luck whoever finds who takes the kill i never have the time to shot before im dead I am fast and can get about 10 to 15 kills a game but but with 15 to 30 deaths im wondering how the hell people get so much kills what is the key to getting kills is it the guns are the player if anyone has some good strategies to kills in call of duty please share them
