Are K&N Air Filters Really That Good? Empty Are K&N Air Filters Really That Good?

I've heard about them, but are they really that good. I need to service my Suzuki GS500. A Hi-Flo (or similar) filter is around £12 - £15 A Genuine Suzuki filter is a whopping £27! A K&N filter is £34 at the cheapest (from eBay), but it does look good (looks aren't everything!)
