Does dental implant surgery hurt!?

'm missing my tooth next to my front tooth. I just wasn't born with an adult one I guess. I have to get braces but after that i'm getting the implant. I know I won't feel anything, but if I'm still awake, just numbed, is it uncomfortable? Like do you feel them digging around in there.
