Tree removal question? Empty Tree removal question?

I need two average size trees removed and stump. I was asked if I want shavings removed who h is $100 more. He said he can put shavings in the hole. I never had trees removed before but that sounds like a mess that would attract termites or ants. Is there any benefit or not bemefit other than saving $100 .
