How do i become a wedding photographer?

I dont know how i get into all of this because im assuming the first thing to do is build a porfolio and i dont know how to do that without attending weddings this is something i have always been passionate about since i was a kid i absolutley love designing and creating beautiful art with and without photos. please help! thankyou
