Online dating -- good or bad idea? and why?

Just recently signed up on a dating site, and not sure whether it's a good or bad idea. Even though the guy I'm talking to looks genuine and is a single parent like me, I'm not convinced that online dating is safe and not just for losers.

I guess this is bad idea cause through dating you could understand one another better. So i will prefer not to do online dates. I personally will be there with my love on new york niagara tour packages. I am so sure this will be amzing for sure.
